Fall 2011 & Winter 2012

Raise your creative VOICES! Lipstick Pages seeks new, original, previously unpublished - poetry, prose, short fiction, essays, reviews, photographs and images of visual art. Feminist, Queer, Transgendered, BBW, BDS&M and other points-of-view encouraged. Bold expression, experimentation, and stream-of-conscious creativity preferred. Love of art and the written word required. After reading our guidelines, submit a detailed query letter about yourself and your creative labor of love (voice of choice attached) to lipstickpages@gmail.com.

Fall 2011 VOICES Guidelines

Literary

• Poetry Up to three (3) previously unpublished poems of varying length per poet per seasonal/quarterly issue upon acceptance of submission. Each poem must not exceed one (1) letter size page -  8½ by 11 in/215.9 mm × 279.4 mm.
  
• Prose One (1) narrative or poetic prose submission up to five (5) pages or 5,000 words per author per issue will be considered, about any fictionalized subject/s of interest.
  
• Fiction One (1) short story up to 10 pages or 10,000 words per author per issue may be accepted. Due to site bandwith restrictions the editor must limit length.*
  
• Non-Fiction One (1) memoir, essay, article, or interview on any subject of interest per author may be considered for publication, not to exceed 5,000 words.* 
• Reviews Up to two (2) book reviews of any genre (genres must vary with multiple submissions) may be considered for publication, not to exceed 1,000 words. 
  
  Format Single or double spaced work attached to query letter as a .doc, .rtf, .txt or .pdf file. Submissions imbedded in email will not be accepted.
  
  Deadline Wednesday, September 14, 2011 Thursday, October 6, 2011.
  
  *Some exceptions may be made for exceptional material, and work may be published in serial format (over two or more seasons), with the author's consent.

Art

• Visual Artwork, Photographs, and Comic Strips Original artwork of any medium, photos, and comic strips will be considered for virtual/internet gallery display. Up to three (3) high-resolution photographs and/or photographic/scanned images of sketches, paintings, sculptures, and other art renderings per artist must be submitted via email.
  
  Format Submit your photos and/or artwork attached to query email as a .jpeg/.jpg, .gif, .png, or .pdf file. Submissions imbedded in email or other file types attached will not be accepted.
  
  Deadline Monday, September 19, 2011 Tuesday, October 11, 2011.
